At NTX Mural Co., inspiration often begins with a simple idea — and sometimes, it begins with a memory.

Marie, one of our talented artists, had long envisioned creating a mosaic-style floor mural. Originally from Europe, she grew up surrounded by the beauty of authentic old-world mosaics and has always loved their timeless character and craftsmanship. Recently, she finally picked up a brush and brought that vision to life.

The mural was created on a newly built front porch and has completely transformed the space. It is now a stunning setting to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, read a favorite book, or simply take in the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets that the North Texas countryside so generously provides.

Christine Sanders, owner of NTX Mural Co., is well known for her love of traditional mosaic work (see her own real mosaic here). As she watched this painted mosaic project develop, she was genuinely impressed by the richness, texture, and realism Marie achieved.

The Medium

This floor mural was created using WRC (Water Reducible Concentrate) from Concrete Resurrection. Marie describes the medium as incredibly easy to work with — very much like watercolor, which is one of her favorite artistic styles.

One of the added benefits? Just like watercolor, cleanup is simple and brushes remain in excellent condition. The colors are vibrant and versatile. They can be blended to create subtle variations or bold custom tones, dry quickly, and layer beautifully for depth and dimension.

The Process

The project took approximately two weeks, with just a few hours of work each day. The finished design represents roughly 46,000 individual “tiles,” all painted by hand in an imitation mosaic style — using just one angle brush.

The result is rich, detailed, and full of life — a true statement piece that elevates the entire porch. The Texas theme is such a great idea for a Texas home!
